Über diesen Blog

Hej och välkommen!

20210709_175531.thumb.jpg.aa5a07a60667d27884d816efcfbdfe7c.jpgJust as I did almost four years ago, you might have tried to research experiences with the Master Programme Integrative Health Science of Kristianstad University (Högskolan Kristianstad) in Sweden. And maybe just like me you realized that there is only limited information out there. Since enrolling in the programme in the autumn semester 2018 (HT18) I have been blogging on this page. Maybe this is even how you ended up here.

As I am German my blog entries thus far have been written mostly in German. Or for the lack of a better world let's call it Germisch. Unfortunately, this might result in the first excitement of finding information about the programme turning to frustration, as a highly doubt any translation software will do my personal experience much good. Not to mention the frustration when discovering that yes, there is someone writing about the programme and course but not in the language of the course.

With this blog I am trying to change that and provide first hand insight through my googles, enabling you to experience the ups and downs, joys and frustrations, questions and answers through the lenses of my eyes.  However, be aware that this is my personal experience, yours might be a completely different one as our experiences are highly influenced by our backgrounds, perceptions and expectations.

Which is a good point - maybe some more background information about myself would be interesting.

Organization Practice

For me, it's now time to make good use of the days off. The next paper has to be submitted on 4.1.19. It deals with a human service institution and is to be related to the theories of O'Connor & Netting (2009).   So it's back to reading so I can do that at all. My "novel" for the next few days is "Organization Practice: A Guide to Understanding Human Service Organizations." And right at the beginning of the book the authors explain that you actually prefer to talk about systems. The appr

FV8015 - Knowledge Development in Multi-Professional Work Places

Now I'm finally getting around to writing something about the content of the current module and also finishing the last one. I have probably mentioned the latter in particular before. Finally, I passed with VG, the feedback was round and I have to say, even though I was sceptical at the beginning, especially because of Foucault, in the end I enjoyed it and took away a lot. I found it interesting how different mechanisms can be explained through the theories of Turner and Foucault. While in my fi

Examination 1 - Submission Deadline

... missed. And not even because I wasn't finished. Because I was already fisnished at 11:30 pm. So with 29 minutes to submit the thing, it shouldn't really be a problem. The emphasis is on actually. Because, although I wanted to submit the document in one of the valid formats that always worked in advance, it absolutely would not attach and upload. I saved it again. In the end, nothing could be done. I could not attach the file. And then the assignment was locked.   In an act of despe

Interactionist Professional Theory by A. Abbott...

... or how I try to beat time. This blog will be short. It's 7:43 pm. Time is running out, the deadline is 23:59 and my head is empty. Right now I'm doing the layout and hope to be able to write down my paper in a fit of madness. Then I have to deal with the new citation form. In the end, I plan to spend about 60 minutes on corrections and that. That gives me 3 hours with a short break in between to get it done.   Basically, there are three scenarios that are possible if I go through w

System of Professions

So by now, at least I'm in the reading flow. I hope that I don't really need the last case studies for the assignment. But it doesn't look like it. But I'm more than unsure whether I'll actually make the deadline on Friday. But the worst thing that could happen is that I would lose my chance to pass the module with the VG, which I doubt at the moment anyway.    Dear Prof. Pundt, forgive me, but I still don't understand Swedish social scientists. Maybe I should try the German ones ;).

Is this still good for me? - Doubt, frustration and more doubt

So I successfully completed the first module and, like 26 percent of the course, with the top grade VG. Since then, the second module "Knowledge Development in Multiprofessional Workplaces" has started seamlessly. Unfortunately, I can't necessarily say that it has got better. Although I now know when and what I have to take as my five exams, until 14 January, but oh well.    It started with a rather forced discussion in which you had to describe your organisation, fragmentation and integrati
