Hi,

mein Anliegen betrifft zwar nicht die OU, aber hoffe ihr könnt mir trotzdem helfen.

Hab jetzt die Zusage zu einem MSc an der Heriot-Watt University (auch UK) by Distance Learning bekommen und muss die Bezahlung der Kurse regeln.

Dazu gibt es laut Schreiben folgende Möglichkeiten:

1. Credit/debit card (form attached) - please note that there is a surcharge of 1.75% for credit card payments.

2. Recurring Card - this is a payment method which allows staged payments to be made from a debit or credit card. Unlike Direct Debit, a UK bank account is not needed to make recurring card payments. Each payment is divided into six equal amounts over six months. If you wish to pay your tuition fees by this method, you must email our central Finance Office (finance@hw.ac.uk) giving the following information: registration number (this is the 9 digit reference number stated on your offer letter), full name, date of birth, mailing address, telephone number, email address, course name and School (School of the Built Environment). You must also state that you are an Independent Distance Learning student and we suggest you use the subject heading: Recurring Card request - SBE IDL course. The application form for Recurring Card payments will then be emailed to you and you should return this to the Finance Office directly. Your Module Application form will be processed once the Recurring Card agreement has been set up with the Finance Office.

3. Bankers draft - should be in pounds Sterling (GBP), drawn on a British bank and made payable to Heriot-Watt University.

4. UK cheques - should be also be made payable to Heriot-Watt University.

Welche Zahlart ist den am unkompliziertesten, wenn man ein stinknormales Girokonto (an der Deutschen Bank) hat??!

Eine Anfrage an die Uni habe ich bereits geschickt, leider aber vorerst ohne Antwort. Vielleicht könnt ihr mir ja paar Tips geben

Bei 1. und 2. musst du schauen, ob deine Bank für Zahlungen mit fremden Währungen auch Gebühren erhebt, die kämen dann noch zum Betrag hinzu.

Ich habe bisher Zahlungen an die OU über eine Auslandsüberweisung gemacht. Die Gebühren beliefen sich dann auf ca. 12€. Du bräuchtest dann IBAN und BIC der Uni, evtl. erhälst du das auf Nachfrage.
